We stayed an extra day after our weekend with friends and Jack got some lessons on the Jet Ski.

Shenanigans

For the last two years some good friends of ours have met us down at the lake for a weekend of swimming, boating, horseshoes and a great time catching up. This year we officially named it our "Shenanigans Weekend"- not sure where we came up with it, but it works well and describes our weekend perfectly!

Happy Anniversary

Brian and I celebrated our 7year anniversary today. I can't believe it has been that long and that we now have this wonderful little boy in our lives who is turning into a little man right before our eyes.  Brian was very thoughtful and got me some flowers and a day at the spa....yipeee! I cannot wait to go get a massage...

He then treated me to a yummy dinner out at Luigi's. Happy Anniversary to my best friend and a wonderful father. You drive me nuts sometimes, but there's no one I'd rather have drive me nuts more than you! And I'm sure Brian would say the same thing ;)

In late July I took Jack for his first cut. A friend of mine suggested this place and hearing that it had little ones in mind was just perfect. Jack picked the Firetruck and we were off. He loves to "dive" so this was perfect. I don't think he took his hands off the steering wheel.

Papa's 95th

Oh my goodness!

Can you believe it? My Great Papa just turned 95!

In late July my Papa turned 95 years old. We all headed out for a birthday visit and some cupcakes. He is not one for a big "to do" on special occasions. It is absolutely amazing to me, the things he has seen change in his lifetime. He is such a humble, wonderful man and although very brief, I enjoy the time I am able to spend with him. Happy Birthday Papa!

A quiet week

After the 4th, Brian, Jack and I stayed behind for the week. We did absolutely nothing of any significance and it was wonderful. We didn't want to come back. We had time to go swim, run around in town if we wanted and most importantly, Brian and I got some much needed baby proofing done- yes, it should have been done long ago!

 And when we weren't taking an evening walk, Jack was taking the stroller for a "stroll" around the living room. What a goofball..... ;)

July 4th

 Jack helped daddy mow the yard to get ready for the group.

June

Well, I pretty much missed blogging the entire months of June and July. We took a nice long trip to NC to visit some family friends and had several weekends at the lake. Jack and I had swimming lessons for the month and he did fabulously! We have a real swimmer on our hands....or as much of a swimmer an 19 month old can be. Of course, I have not one picture!

North Carolina Part 1

We have some very close friends (may as well be family) that live in Charlotte, NC.

Kirby and my dad look like twins and have been friends since high school. My mom and Kirby have known each other through church for even longer. Odly enough, Kirby introduced my dad and my mom- I guess the rest is history. Kirby and Sondra have been a huge part of my life and their friendship means so much to our family. Now that my dad has passed, it is so nice to be able to see Kirby....with their similar resemblance, it's like I get a visit from my dad now and then.

 Jessica, their daughter, got married in June, so we headed to the wedding! I have to say, I have NEVER been in humidity that bad in my life! Except, I'm sure, for the previous times we've traveled to NC for visits. Humidity aside, we had a blast seeing our friends, catching up and remembering old times.
